Our remit was to relocate the secure callers office for better access to the public and create an easier working environment for the Royal Mail staff.
The biggest hurdle here was that the location is in the centre of town and the sorting office is small in comparison to the amount of staff working from here.
We took down the existing internal office and built a new office at the other side of the building whilst the sorting hall remained in operation. To do this we worked alongside the staff by working between shift patterns and working weekends.
The new office was built to the Royal Mail high security spec incorporating roller shutters, operating hatches and specified ironmongery.
